Share Scheme update

January 1, 2000

As we reach the end of the season I would again like to thank all Share Scheme members for their continued support.

This has been a difficult season on and off the pitch and the Football Club’s annual accounts, issued recently, revealed a loss of just over £1m last season. The club’s overall debts rose from £4.2m in 2009 to more than £4.8m in 2010. Rovers are expected to report another loss in excess of £1m from this season as we battle to survive in League One. The Share Scheme has been vital for Rovers and has helped the Supporters Club tomaintain its shareholding of around 8%.

The scheme has been vital to help the football club and its figures up to the end of March showed its 273 members have contributed a magnificent £849,609. The Supporters’ Club holding in the football club at the end of last month stood at 395,240 shares.

It’s not too late to join the Share Scheme and have your name on the ‘Roll of Honour’ which is to be displayed in the Supporters Bar of the rebuilt Memorial Stadium.
