Weston Gas conquer Uhuru Peak

January 1, 2000

Merrick Concannon, Adrian and Sheridon Parker from our Weston branch have reached Uhuru Peak. Uhuru Peak is the highest point on the African Continent (5,895m), thus completing their quest to conquer Mt. Kilimanjaro. Merrick said “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but also the most rewarding”. Adrian said “All the hard work we put in paid off”. Sheridon said “I’m elated to have achieved my target!”

We would like to thank everyone who donated towards our separate causes, to raise money for Leukaemia, Lymphoma Research and Weston Hospice Care. Thanks go to Brian Seymour-Smith and all at Bristol Rovers Supporters Club, WsM Gas, the Windsor Castle and Pete Clark, who gave up his time to train us.
