I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank David Brain for all his work on both the board and the executive committee, in particular for his endeavours with the Share Scheme which has proved such an amazing success especially in the early years when it helped to save Rovers from dropping into the Conference.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank David Brain for all his work on both the board and the executive committee, in particular for his endeavours with the Share Scheme which has proved such an amazing success especially in the early years when it helped to save Rovers from dropping into the Conference.

I would also extend my thanks to David for standing by both the Supporters Club and the Board of Directors by remaining on the Board when all around him were resigning their posts during the major

disagreements in 2005/06.

I hope that every true Rovers’ supporter here tonight gets right behind the team and that we don’t hear too much from the foul mouthed minority who have taken to abusing staff and players alike in recent weeks. The current management and playing staff, barring just a couple of stalwarts remaining from Paul Trollope’s squad, did not get us into this mess and with so many new players arriving from all over the place and having to move homes and family it cannot be easy to settle everyone in.

It is clear to me that very few, if any,of our new faces have ever played in a large, two club city where the most intense of rivalries means so much. Those of us who travel away are aware of how good this team can be on its day but they are clearly struggling here at home where booing and swearing can only make things worse. We must not end up like those on the ‘dark side’ of the river who seem to turn on their side for the slightest reason so please get behind all the boys in blue this evening and let’s win together. Directors, management, players and supporters, we all want the same thing!

SHARE SCHEME

The latest Share Scheme shirt winners are Christopher Sealey who won at the Shrewsbury game and Richard Smith won at the Cheltenham game. We hope to present them with their shirts at half time tonight.

If you would like to join, or introduce someone else, please contact Clare McDonagh at Pirate Leisure on 0117 9524001 [email protected] If you would simply like to know more about the scheme, then please contact David Brain on 07765 25411 or [email protected]

More information can be found here.

50/50 WINNER

Harry Ryalls of Withywood won £840 at the Cheltenham game with ticket 33887 sold by Sandra Jaques in the J & G Stand.

ORGANISED JUNIOR MATCHDAY PARTIES

Tonight’s match party is Horfield Young Peoples Club who meet during school term times on Friday evenings from 6-30pm to 8.00pm offering football, snooker, table tennis and much more. The club is for boys and girls aged from 6 to 12 years. Admission is just £1 and covers all facilities and a squash break. Just come along to Horfield Parish Church Hall on Wellington Hill and you will be most welcome.

For our game against Barnet on Saturday, November 19th, we only have a small party which does not require a coach so we could fit another party in if you are interested. Otherwise we are booked up until Christmas so please submit your application early to avoid disappointment, as matches to the end of the season are running out.

Please email your application to [email protected] or phone on 07765 254110. There will only be one coach per game, so priority will be given on a first come first serve basis.
