Player of the Year evening coming up

January 1, 2000

This year’s Supporters Club’s Player of the Year presentation evening will be held on Thursday, May 3 (7.30pm).

Highlight of the night is the presentation of the trophy to the winning player as voted for by the supporters. The race is on to succeed Stuart Campbell, who won last year’s award.

Other awards include Young Player of the Year and the Supporters Club’s Clubman of the Year trophy.

All the first team squad and manager Mark McGhee will present for the awards.

Screen Soccer will show a compilation of the best Rovers goals of the season before everyone in the audience gets the opportunity to vote for their favourite goal.

There will be professional cabaret by comedian and vocalist Garry Dorsey plus a buffet all for £5. You can get tickets in advance from Pirate Leisure or our shop at Two Mile Hill, Kingswood.

And fans are being encouraged to cast their votes. You can get voting slips from both shops or from the turnstiles at our last home game against Accrington.

You can vote for any member of the first team squad who has played for Bristol Rovers this year. Loan players must have played at least 10 times for the club.

Fans have until Saturday April 28th, after our final home game of the season, to cast their vote and return their form.

The Supporters’ Club General Knowledge Quiz, which was to have taken place on 3rd May, has been postponed.
