Following an early pitch inspection at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium at 10.45 this morning, it was decided by the referee that the pitch would not be safe to play today’s fixture on.

Over the last few nights Oxford residents have endured very cold conditions for the time of year and frost was evident in parts of the pitch almost a foot deep.

This meant that despite areas of the pitch thawing nicely in the sun, the shaded areas were almost definitely not going to recover and defrost for the duration of the match and most likely start to become unsafe again during play with the weather forecast prdeicting more cold weather later on. The Supporters Club are grateful to the referee for making a very early pitch inspection and saving many Gasheads a wasted trip.

The match has been re-scheduled for Wednesday 15th March, the day after our Supporters club evening being held at Yate Town football club. More details of that here. All those with tickets that cannot make the re-scheduled match will be able to claim a refund.
