With the transfer window closing last week, there was plenty of activity at the Mem to make Juniors move to Nottingham Forest happen. Despite Rovers turning down an offer from them a couple of weeks ago, it was clear he wanted to go and that Forest were going to come back to the table to thrash out another deal. In the end, whilst we are sorry to see him go, we wish him well and thank him for all his efforts whilst he was at Rovers.
Meanwhile, the Supporters Club have been interviewing candidates for the position of Business Manager for their outlets this week. The position, which was advertised a few weeks ago, yielded a good number of applications with varying degrees of skill and experience. The clear thing that shone through in all the applications was the enthusiasm of every individual applying for the role.
Those involved in the interviewing process had the privilege of sorting through the applications received to compile the list of those who it was felt would be suitable to speak to. The preliminary interview process took place this week and we are hopeful to be able to give more news on this in due course. Despite some applicants not making it to interview stage, it would be fair to say how impressed we have been with the standard of the applications in general. Obviously, we consider this appointment to be a real priority for us and we intend to do all we can to ensure we appoint the right person for the role. Customer service is a top priority for us here at BRSC and we hope the difference starts to show soon after the appointment is made.
Regular visitors to the Mem may well have noticed the Young Pirates have a new home, and back in the main car park. At present on the outside it would benefit from a spruce up, but inside is a different matter. The Young Pirates organisers have done a great job decorating it just how the boys like it. When you next visit the Mem, why not pop over and take a look? It is also planned for the outside to get a make over over the next few weeks too, more news as it is confirmed.
Finally, the Supporters Club are looking for deserving local clubs who need a new set of kit. We can only offer shirts, and in adult sizes only, but it’s a chance to spruce up YOUR team’s kit. What we need is the reason (or reasons) why YOUR team deserves it more than any other team. If you think your team is a deserving case, please apply to the BRSC web site. Applications MUST be done via Email. No other forms of application will be accepted or considered. To enter, please send your details, including a daytime phone number, to; [email protected] Make sure you put two s’s in! We will contact applicants in due course, but hurry with your applications, as prizes are limited.
