The Supporters Club Share Scheme has just finished the financial commitment It made in the purchase of Junior Agogo in summer 2003.

We all know Junior showed just glimpses of his potential in his first season with Rovers, due to a nasty knee injury. However, he was on fire in his second season scoring over 20 goals and putting in some great performances, including his one man strike force against Yeovil at the Mem.

Now the Share Scheme is looking to help in any new move to strengthen Ian Atkins squad – In the meantime we are all helping to fund the development of the young players in the Rovers squad.

We also now have an agreement perhaps unique in the football league. If Junior moved on the Share Scheme would be entitled to a share of the sale proceeds. But we hope Junior stays and bangs in the goals to take Rovers to League 1.

Rovers president Denis Dunford is also an enthusiastic member of the Supporters Club Share Scheme. “All of us are custodians of the club for future generations”, said Denis. “So we have to help in protecting the club that has existed now for nearly 125 years”.

“The Supporters Share Scheme gives supporters a chance to own over 25% of our club. If the Share Scheme can get to that percentage, it means any major decision by the football club, such as the sale of the ground, would have to be referred to the Supporters Club”.

“You have already helped us by joining the Share Scheme – but there are only 1000 of us. There are many other supporters and businessmen who care passionately about Bristol Rovers.

If you can help us find other people to join the Share Scheme, or you can offer your or your companies services to the Club, act now and play your part in the future of Bristol Rovers Football Club”.

Denis and Joan Dunford are both Silver Share Scheme members </p>
