Green Un 10th September
September 11, 2005
Last week’s away day proved a tonic to those Gasheads who made the trip to East London with a brace from Junior and one for Craig Disley securing all three points for the Gas. It certainly proved a good distraction from the other business taking place last week at Rovers, and was just what boss Ian Atkins needed.
As usual, there is plenty happening at the Supporters Club.
This Saturday saw the opening of the new Supporters Club Share Scheme information point, in which Share Scheme chairman David Brain and assistant James Chapman are talking to Gasheads interested in signing up and helping to make a difference at Rovers. In addition they extend an invitation to lapsed members or current members wishing to upgrade their membership. Numbers are good but there is always room for more, and by signing up fans can help the Supporters Club in their quest to own 28% of Rovers and secure the club’s future, not to mention helping the club finance extra players like Junior Agogo.
While on the subject, members will have the chance to come to an open evening at the new Filton College facilities on Thursday 29th September. This will be an all ticket event with free tickets available from both our supporters shops, with share scheme members taking priority then Supporters Club members. Numbers are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
Additionally today, the Supporters Club launched our season long super draw at half time on the pitch. In association with Bike Direct, Bristol’s premier used motorcycle superstore, we are offering a prize unlike anything we have ever done before.
As many know, we have to address the traffic problem here at the Mem on a match day and in theme with this, the Supporters Club are offering a Yamaha ‘twist and go’ BWS50 scooter customised in this seasons Rovers colours. The paint job is a one off unique and never to be repeated and the prize comes with all you need to get on the road, including insurance, tax, safety equipment including a personalised helmet and even training.
This is a real prize of a lifetime with a value of over £3000 and tickets are available from both Pirate Leisure and 199, priced £1 each but sold in strips of 5. There is also the opportunity to get free tickets from purchases at our shops. Please see the terms and conditions on display at both our shops.
Another prize draw we currently have running is the online registration draw. Members can simply send us their email address and current details to enter a draw to win an Errea training shirt. This draw ends on 30th September and gives us an opportunity to check the details of all those who enter and help us make sure they are all up to date. To enter simply email [email protected] and leave your details.
Our online shop [email protected] continues offer Gasheads the best online prices on all manner of purchases too. This week more retailers have been added, and with the Supporters Club getting commission on all purchases made through the link on our site, www.bristolroverssc.co.uk , it offers fans another way to help the club without any additional outlay. That’s the news from us for this week, and all that remains is for Gasheads to welcome Michael Leary during his loan spell with us. He made an impressive debut for us last week and we wish him well during his time at Rovers.
