This Monday, the Associate Director candidates took part in an open forum evening at the Mem. The two candidates made an address to those present and also took any questions from the floor. As both candidates will not be speaking at our AGM it was the only chance to hear them speak and voice any concerns. Sadly, due to many factors including the weather on the evening, the attendance was lower than expected, but those present made full use of the opportunity afforded them with some lively questions from the floor.
Those members who wish to vote for one of the candidates must do so prior to the start of the Supporters Club’s AGM, THIS Thursday, December 1st, starting at 7.30pm. Once the AGM is brought to order the ballot boxes will be closed. It will be held in the Bristol Room and Paul Trollope has confirmed he will be there. We hope to also have Lennie Lawrence there too, though he has yet to confirm this.

The Executive committee met this week too, with each sub committee reporting their progress from this month. The Social sub committee held a successful Halloween night quiz, which was well supported, and have other activities in the pipeline. One of these is a trip down memory lane to recognise the 50th anniversary of the day Rovers beat Manchester United 4-0 in the FA Cup. More details will follow on this free to fans evening as they are confirmed. The communications sub committee continue to seek new ways of keeping our members informed and also continue to look for new ways of raising the profile of both the Supporters club and the football club. The commercial sub committee are gearing up for the Christmas demands on our retail outlets, whilst looking for new ways of raising funds, whilst the match day set up keeps everything ticking over nicely at our home games.
We have published reports from all the sections of the Executive committee now, both in our newsletter and on our website, and these will be among the agenda for the AGM.

Tickets continue to sell well for the Supporters Club’s season long super draw, with the custom painted scooter as the first prize. We now have the 2nd prize too, a custom painted mountain bike, and it looks good. With a guest appearance for the scooter on ‘Soccer Night’ last week, I’m sure it’s going to be a popular prize for the lucky winner. Don’t forget both the prizes come with all the safety equipment needed, including training, to ensure the lucky winners get to enjoy using their prizes. At £1 a go, ticket sales have been brisk, but people still have time to get one if they haven’t already, as the scooter is regularly on show around the stadium on a match day and this week will be no exception. The draw will be done at our penultimate home game, with the prizes being presented at the last home match of the season.

Finally, a reminder for you. Our FA Cup game against Port Vale is this Friday night, away at Vale Park, Burslem, Stoke on Trent. If anyone wants to use our coaches and has not yet booked their tickets, please do so before Thursday to ensure we can get you on. Remember, if you are taking the coach from Horfield, it now leaves from the Stadium and not the previous pick up point.
More news next week.
