London Gas New Year Party-Reminder
December 27, 2005
AJust a timely reminder that our New Year party has been organised in our usual haunt of The Golden Fleece in the City of London on Wednesday 11 January. Come and shake off 2005 and welcome in what we hope will be a successful year for Rovers. Optimism is on the up at long last and there is a feeling that just maybe the years of under achievement and disappointment are behind us.
Last year 20 Gasheads turned up for the Christmas party, which was a magnificent achievement. I didn’t realise there were so many Rovers’ supporters in London. Let’s see if we can break that record in January.
There’s plenty to talk about at the moment with the improvement in the team’s performances despite the “blip” against Torquay – so if you are based in London and fancy a few drinks and a lot of talk about Rovers past, present and future come along to the pub on 11 January from about 6.30pm.
If you are going to come along it would be helpful to get names beforehand so that we can gauge the amount of food to order. Please indicate your attendance by email to: [email protected]
The Golden Fleece can be found at 8 Queen Street, EC4N 1SP. We will be in the ‘snug’ at the back of the pub on the level you enter at Queen Street, which is between Queen Victoria Street and Cheapside. The nearest tube stations are Mansion House (Circle and District Lines) and Bank (Waterloo and City, Central and Northern Lines). If you come from Bank then take either exit 8 for Queen Victoria Street or exit 9 for Poultry / Cheapside. Cannon Street overground is also within easy walking
distance and the following bus routes stop nearby: 8, 11, 21, 23, 25, 26,
43, 76, 113, 141, 242, 388.
