[image1]One for the Share Scheme

Danny Coles has become the latest player brought to Rovers with the help of the share scheme. For those unaware, one of the most important elements of the Supporters Club share scheme has been our financial contributions towards strengthening the team. Andy Rammell joined us on transfer deadline day with our future looking bleak. No one can forget how ‘Rambo’ scored the important goals that helped to save us from the Conference. We then contributed towards the transfer fee for Junior Agogo whose goals helped to keep us out of the Conference in subsequent years. As part of that deal the Supporters Club would receive 10% of any profit if he was later sold. When the Supporters Club received £2,500 from the sale of Junior to Nottingham Forrest we readily agreed to reinvest this money as our contribution to the signing of Rickie Lambert. How important his goals proved to be are now history particularly the winners against City and Hartlepool. Now there is Danny Coles so let’s hope Danny and any future signings can be as successful. Yes future signings! We have already committed to supporting another signing if the management team can secure the services of another striker.

There is now a little over a year to run on the existing share scheme. To date we have handed over in excess of £625,000 to the football club and the Supporters Club now holds circa 9.4% of the issued share capital as well as having the influence of two full directors in the board room. These are great achievements but we would still like to achieve more. Can you help by joining or by introducing someone else to join the share scheme for its last year? Perhaps your company would like to join the corporate membership which with tax concessions is less than the platinum scheme? The Supporters Club will receive 1 share for every £2.75 contributed.  Whilst the scheme was designed for a 3 year membership this is not essential and anyone can join for the last year.

“We need your help in ‘growing’ the Share Scheme income”
