Last Saturday a team consisting of Supporters Club Committee and staff were joined by volunteers to assist with the clearing of our large collection of old football programmes from storage above the Kingswood shop. This clear-out will help provide us with much needed extra storage space or, if necessary, another office when Pirate Leisure closes for demolition of the Memorial Stadium later in the summer. Chairman Jim Chappell would like to place on record his grateful thanks for all those who assisted with the work on what turned out to be a very hot day. Particular thanks must go to Jamie Howarth who has provided the club with temporary storage for the programme collection whilst he sorts out what needs to be retained for eventual resale. Invaluable assistance was given by Wes Browne and Alan Williams who volunteered their time to assist and our Commercial Chairman Clive Farquhar provided the transport.
The Supporters Club is at the time of writing still waiting for agreement on temporary premises in the Horfield area whilst the stadium is redeveloped. We hope to have this finalised shortly and will publish details as soon as we can. Meantime both the Kingswood and Pirate Leisure shops remain open as normal.
