Share Scheme Update
January 29, 2009
We are launching a promotion drive within the next few weeks to push the amount raised by the share scheme close to the £800,000 mark by the end of this season.
A recent meeting of the Supporters Club’s share scheme committee was told that the amount raised by the end of 2008 was more than £768,000.
Now we need everyone’s help to press on past that next target of £800,000 which would be a magnificent effort for the scheme which is the envy of many clubs up and down the country.
Several months ago the football club board agreed to extend the scheme for another two years with us buying shares at two for £5.50.
Now the committee is looking at a number of initiatives to promote the scheme including contacting former members to see if they are now in a position to rejoin.
All share scheme members will be eligible to win a Rovers shirt signed by all the players. The draw will be made on the pitch during half-time at each home game.
At one game in the future a member of the scheme will win Andy Rammell’s signed shirt in another draw. We hope the former striker, who the share scheme helped to bring to Rovers and whose goals kept us in the league, will be at a game to present the shirt.
You will be aware of the many benefits which you qualify for when joining the scheme including priority for all-ticket matches.
You name will feature permanently on a “roll of honour” board that will be put up in the redeveloped Memorial Stadium.
Some of the many benefits available to share scheme members include 10 % discount on season tickets and on goods purchased from Pirate Leisure or our shop at 199, Two Mile Hill in Kingswood.
You get free membership of the Supporters Club, complimentary match tickets after you have been in the scheme for six months and also matchday hospitality including a meal at one of our home games.
The cost per month is still the same as when the scheme started six years ago. The options are: Bronze £10.83 per month: Silver £21.67; Gold £43.34; Platinum £83.34.
Your company may be interested in joining our Corporate Scheme which costs £1,200 per year, although tax advantages mean that it effectively costs less than a Platinum subscription.
The committee would welcome anyone who wants to “spread the word” on promoting the scheme and any new ideas you may have.
If you would like to join, or introduce someone else, please contact Clare McDonagh at Pirate Leisure on 0117 9524001 or [email protected]. For more details you can contact the scheme’s chairman David Brain on 07765 2541110 or [email protected].
