Branch lines

September 9, 2012

R!)GLOSTER GAS WILL BE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER.

The meetings are informal, just good company over a pint. The meeting place, as always, will be the Double Gloucester Pub in Cheltenham Road Longlevens. Members start to gather from7.30pm onwards. If you live in the area and support Rovers, please come along. New members are always made welcome. Shared transport to home and away games help to keep down the costs. Norton/Radstock Gas are working very hard at the moment to arrange transport to away games with pick up points in North East Somerset. The Branch was formed in 2008 with the help of Bristol Rovers Director Ken Masters.

The membership has grown to about 60 members and covers Midsomer Norton and Radstock as well as the surrounding areas of Paulton, Peasedown St John, Writhlington, Frome and Stoke St Michael. New members are welcome to join the very friendly branch. Regular meetings are held at the Crown Inn, Clayton. where the Gashead landlord, Mike Baber, makes everybody very welcome.

Ken Masters is a regular visitor to keep members updated with all Rovers news and to answers any questions raised. Nick Higgs and Jim Chappell have also both attended on different occasions. The Branch has played host to Weston Gas when an enjoyable evening was had by all taking part in a darts and pool competition.

Organised transport to away games has included Leicester, Walsall, Swindon, Southampton, Charlton, Exeter and Plymouth. Competitions are held on route to the match, predicting goal times, and a raffle on the journey home. Next away trip is to Exeter on 29th September and children are always made very welcome.

  • THIS SEASON NORTON RADSTOCK WILL BE OFFICIAL MATCH SPONSORS FOR THE HOME GAME AGAINST ROCHDALE IN MARCH.

If you are interested in joining up for a meeting at the Crown, or joining with members on an away trip, then please call Carolyn (07761 182977) or Sally (07779 294038).
