Supporters Away Travel News

Many thanks to those members who contacted us with their views on the Away travel service currently run by the supporters club.

We asked for your views and as a consequence we have made some adjustments to take effect for next season. The BRSC Executive Committee considered the findings of the review and have agreed the following arrangements and structure for next season.

1. Pick-up points,

The Kingswood pick-up point for the 2014/15 season will now be at the marked bus stop on the Kingsway, close to Two Mile Hill Primary School. This pick-up point is just around the corner from the BRSC supporters club shop at 199 Two Mile Hill.

2. Routes taken between pick-up points and the routes to matches,

For the 2014/15 season all the coaches will pick-up from the Kingsway stop first and then travel onto the Memorial Stadium.

3. Pricing structure and general level of prices,

We decided to make no major changes in this area for the season ahead because the feedback indicated that members did not have any serious concerns with the price structure as it currently operates.

4. Booking procedure and the process of obtaining tickets,

For the 2014/15 season coach tickets will be available as previously obtained. We are looking into the possibility of making the purchase of coach tickets available online in the future.

5. Timing of trips in terms of departure time and arrival time,

For the 2014/15 season some coach trips will leave slightly earlier than they might have previously. We have looked at the reasons 3 coach trips arrived later than planned last season and will factor in the time of matches, traffic concerns and length of journey into the departure and arrival planning. We will continue to plan the coach journey to arrive at the away venue approximately 60-90 minutes before the kick-off time.

6. General travel issues, such as the time and place of stops on both the outward and return journeys.

For the 2014/15 season the stewards and the coach driver will agree on the probable stopping points before departure and will inform supporters on boarding of any planned stopping point. Please bear in mind that traffic conditions may sometimes alter these plans.

50:50 Half Time Draw Information

Many thanks to those members who have expressed their views on the 50:50 Half Time Draw currently operated by the supporters club.

We asked for your views and as a consequence we have looked at our operation and have decided not to make any major adjustments for next season. We will continue to liaise with Tom Curtis, our Head of Academy and the BRFC Board about the specific and tangible targets that the 50:50 scheme will help to fund. We will also continue to monitor the impact of introducing in January 2014 the fixed £100 second prize for most matches. The winning numbers will still be available on the BRSC website and the BRFC Official Site in the 2014/15 season. This scheme will be reviewed again during the 2014/15 season and we will continue to welcome your suggestions about how to make the scheme more successful at all times in the future.

BRSC Website Information

Many thanks to those members who have expressed their views on the BRSC Website operated by the supporters club.

We are planning to update the website in three stages over the next 12 months and hope that it will be more useful for members and provide a better service overall.

The first revision of the website will occur in August and we will then seek feedback over the following three months before we decide how we need to amend the website later this year. Please contact us if you have any thoughts or suggestions about the new website when it is operational.
