Long Haul Ahead
September 18, 2014
Generally I like to think that I am a positive kind of a person but at this time I have to confess; when driving away from Braintree I could not see 9 points coming from the Wrexham, Lincoln and Nuneaton games.
(Two of the players who have made a big difference in the recent victories.)
Wrexham were flying away from home and still are with a fine win at Barnet. Lincoln is a long trip, a difficult place to go and they were coming off the back of a confidence boosting home win against local rivals Grimsby Town.
Our away form did not suggest anything else to me other than a “backs to the wall” 90 plus minuets of football. Nuneaton had started the season slowly but came to The Mem following a management change and two good results.
Over the last three games the players have looked very much together with a determination to learn and win. Credit to them and well done to Darrell and his management team.
(Three of the key coaching staff.)
You win nothing in August and September. It’s a long road till May; keep walking and walk together.
