Eye On Youth
November 6, 2014
‘Focusing on Youth’ is going to be a recurring topic on the BRFC website.
(This is adapted from it.)
This section will look at some of the younger members of the Bristol Rovers set up. This week it is Kieran Preston.
Kieran is an 18 year old goalkeeper who made 22 appearances for the Academy Under-18 side last year.
Kieran Preston signed for Rovers in the summer of 2013 having previously played for Nottingham Forest since the age of 8.
Born in Glasgow, Kieran has represented Scotland at Under-19 level and made his international debut against Belgium in August.
Kieran was Youth Team Player of the Season in 2013/14 and began the season in excellent form as the understudy to Steve Mildenhall.
Now that Will Puddy has joined the club as second choice keeper Kieran has continued to play for the Reserves and U-18 Academy side.
He made his first appearance for the Academy side this season against Torquay United on 23rd August.
Academy Manager Tom Curtis was a coach at Nottingham Forest and signed him when he was released from the City Ground as a 16 year old.
Everyone at the club wishes Kieran good luck for the rest of the season!
