Angelo Balanta is set to have his first outing in a Bristol Rovers shirt as part of a development side that takes on Cinderford Town in the Gloucestershire Senior Cup at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday 18th November 2014. The planned start is 7.45pm.
Balanta arrived on a deal until the end of the season at the start of September, but a lack of match fitness early on and then a hamstring tear have hampered progress.
The former QPR man, however, was back in the first-team picture as an unused substitute when Rovers claimed a 1-1 draw with Kidderminster Harriers at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday and assistant manager Marcus Stewart said: “We’re hoping to see a bit from him on Tuesday night.
“Angelo has been in the treatment room for most of his time here so far, but that lad has undoubted quality. We have seen glimpses of that when he has been out on the training pitch.”
He also has to do the other side of things when we haven’t got the ball so let’s hope that he is fit enough to be able to do that as well, there is an opportunity there for him and it is up to him now.”
“People have been saying that we are crying out for goals in the team and he certainly has that match-winning ability to create something and open up defences.”
