No Beauty Man
November 25, 2014
JUST as we are about to play Welling United TWICE in the next fortnight……………………..
Welling can confirm midfielder Harry Beautyman has joined League 1 Peterborough.
The 22-year-old departs Park View Road on loan until January when the switch will become permanent for an undisclosed fee.
Beautyman joined the Wings at the start of last season from Sutton, for whom he caught the eye in Conference South after leaving Leyton Orient.
However, his debut season for the Wings was blighted by injury and it was only after an injury-free pre-season that Wings fans saw his true potential this campaign,
Beautyman has scored 11 goals so far this season and his energetic displays made him a popular figure at the club.
Welling would like to place on record their thanks to Harry for his efforts and wish him well back in the Football League.
Beautyman is another player to progress into the Football League in recent times from Park View Road, following the likes of Fraser Franks and Ross Lafayette, who both ply their trade for League 2 Luton.
Welling boss Jamie Day said: “I’d like to congratulate Harry on his move into league football.
“Harry was a player I had tracked for a while and I was delighted to get him. He had an up and down start with injuries but we could see in training what he was capable of.
“He has been first-class to work with and to manage. His attitude has been fantastic and he fully deserves this chance.
“His goals and workrate this season have been valuable and he deserved his recent England C call-up. He will be missed by everyone at the club but it again shows that this club can work with good young players and move them onto full-time football.”
