Danny Joins Barry
December 12, 2014
Truro City have boosted their squad ahead of Saturday’s game at Arlesey Town with the signing of young Bristol Rovers left back Danny Greenslade.
The 19-year-old Welshman has joined Truro City on a month’s loan and will cover for Ryan Brett who has been struggling with a foot injury.
City boss Steve Tully, a friend of Rovers’ assistant manager Marcus Stewart, said that Greenslade, who had a spell on loan at Mangotsfield United earlier in the season will start tomorrow’s game. City bid to strengthen their challenge at the top of the Evo-Stick Southern Premier division with what would be a sixth win in seven league matches.
Steve Tully said: “Danny is a first year pro with Bristol Rovers and comes well recommended. I have spoken to him and he is keen to join us. We are not sure how long Ryan (Brett) will be out for and I am delighted Danny has agreed to join us.”
Danny Greenslade is a graduate of the Bristol Rovers’ Academy. Danny has been with Bristol Rovers since he was 10 years of age and worked his way up through every age group from that point.
(Danny will link up with Barrington Hayles who is a legend at both Bristol Rovers and Truro City.)
Danny was a member of the Bristol Rovers Academy Under-18 side that clinched a Football Alliance League and Cup double in 2012/13. He was offered a pro contract after spending two years as a scholar.
