(The section below is from the Vanarama Conference Review from the weekend.)
Second-placed Bristol Rovers returned to league action with a goalless draw with Woking at Kingfield.
Rovers had received a timely boost just before kick-off after reports of Barnet’s 3-1 demise at Grimsby filtered through.
But Darrell Clarke’s side, who closed the gap at the summit to five points, were unable to fully capitalise due to a failure to break the deadlock in what was a real battle of attrition for both sides.
Rovers` striker Matty Taylor did have the ball in the net on a couple of occasions only to be denied by the linesman’s flag in a game that was fairly devoid of meaningful chances at either end of the park.
