March 25, 2015
The BRFC Under 16 Academy side faced Exeter City on Saturday 21st March. They produced a good performance against one of the strongest Academies in our region.
Looking very solid without the ball they looked comfortable when out of possession, but also produced some good passages of play going forward resulting in a well taken goal by central midfielder Luke Russe.
The other 7 BRFC Academy sides from Under 9 to Under 15 played against Oxford United FC Academy teams on Saturday 21st March 2015.
The BRFC Academy Under 9 team found playing against Oxford United is a different sort of challenge. Physical and very competitive, the games provided all of our teams with a good test.
This week’s central training focus topic was defending in our own half. In this context the stand out effort of the weekend came from the BRFC Under 14 team who defended resolutely. They also scored 3 good goals.
Goal scorers were Takayo Nembhard, Keiran Phillips from a well worked free-kick routine and Taylor Marsh.
Goal of the week was that quickly taken free-kick from the Under 14 encounter.

It showed good creativity and imagination which is exactly the things we try to promote to our boys.
