Another Cup Final

April 1, 2015

Welcome all to our next ‘cup final’ as Darrell calls them – certainly another vital game with just five more matches to count in Rovers’ first season in non-League.

The struggle to regain League status is now even more intense as a result of last weekend’s fixtures that effectively leave three former members locked in battle for just the one automatic promotion place and with only one point separating them.

In hindsight I suppose I must agree with the Manager that a point at Moss Rose was a point gained considering Macclesfield’s home record to date but we were definitely not at our best and I thought Rovers lacked championship-winning quality in their passing.

When things are not going to plan I urge every fan to stay behind the lads and not to criticise as I’m certain every one of Darrell’s lads will be trying their best. Not everything works for every player in every match and for many reasons not always obvious to those of us on the sidelines.

These are vital times for our great club so let’s stick together and see a very difficult job through to the conclusion we all want – promotion at the first attempt.

As I write this building work is proceeding apace at the Supporters Club shop in Kingswood as the new owner carries out the first stage of redeveloping the top two floors into residential use.

Pirate Leisure and our own match-day cabin are of course open today for match tickets, away travel and merchandising as usual and hopefully all will be back to normal for us all next week.

We look forward to seeing our members calling into Kingswood again and on behalf of the Committee I would like to thank everyone for their forbearance during the shutdown.

See you at ‘Kiddie’ on Monday.

Up the ‘Pirates’!
