LMA Manager Of The Year

May 27, 2015

Gareth Ainsworth of Wycombe Wanderers has won the League Managers Association League 2 Manager of the Year award.

Mr. Ainsworth saw off competition from Burton’s Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Shrewsbury Town’s Micky Mellon and Hartlepool’s Ronnie Moore to win the accolade.

Wycombe Wanderers lost 7-6 on penalties to Southend United in the play-off final at Wembley on Saturday May 23rd 2015.

Mr. Ainsworth was the only divisional Manager of the Year that didn’t win their title.

The Blues boss collected the prize from former Wycombe manager Martin O’Neill at a prestigious ceremony in London.

Mr. Ainsworth has signed a new five-and-a-half year deal in December 2014 to remain in charge at Adams Park.
