Eriksen’s deflected strike the only goal.
On Saturday 18th July 2015 Spurs played a behind-closed-doors friendly against Reading.
Reading lost 1-0 to Spurs at Hotspur Way thanks to a Christian Eriksen strike.
This was Spurs second friendly after last weekend’s 4-0 win over Southend United.
Reading’s second half goalkeeper Jonathan Bond made some fine stops.
Bond’s opposite number, Michel Vorm, was also kept busy by a strong Reading side.
However, Vorm was equal to everything thrown at him over the 90 minutes.
Reading nearly found an opening on 13 minutes from Pavel Pogrebnyak.
Vorm saved well from Jordan Obita following Nick Blackman’s cross from the right.
Vorm later denied Blackman from 25 yards.
Eriksen scored when he sent a dipping shot over Bond with 60 minutes played.
Both sides will have gained for the workout after a week of double training sessions by the Reading squad.
The Royals gave game time to most of the first team squad with Anton Ferdinand playing 75 minutes.
Stephen Quinn and Pavel Pogrebnyak were among those starting their first games in pre-season.
Reading introduced fresh legs including Aaron Tshibola, Sean Long and Dominic Hyam.
This raised the pace of the game in the last half an hour.
Despite this Spurs ran out 1-0 victors.
