Pirates 2 v 3 Robins

Bristol Rovers and Swindon Town played a reserve team friendly on Tuesday 15th December.

Jordan Stewart scored 25 games in 75 appearances for Glentoran before the Robins paid £50,000 for him in August 2015.

Two late goals by Man of the Match, Jordan Stewart sealed the victory.

The final score was 3-2 to the visitors as they scored twice in the last few minutes.

Bristol Rovers went in front after 15 minutes with a calm finish by Jermaine Easter.

Martin Ling’s Robins equalised to make the score 1-1 at half time.

The experienced Pirates players were substituted at half time or shortly afterwards.

Cristian Montano, Jake Gosling, Jermaine Easter, Ollie Clarke and Mark McChrystal had the early bath.

Instead Blake Davies, George Corp, Olly Mehew, Eliot Green, Tom Fry and Ryan Broom took the field.

Will Puddy seems to be over the serious groin injury that has seen him unable to play for many months.

Will Puddy had the opportunity to spend the entire 90 minutes in goal.

The Pirates went in front following quick approach play and a crisp passing move.

Blake Davies, was played in by his Academy team mates and he blasted in at the far post.

It looked all over until two late goals came from Jordan Stewart, the 20 year old Swindon striker.

His first goal was a deflection and his second was a penalty which was the last action in the entire match.

Henrik Ojamaa, signed a one year deal for Swindon Town in September 2015.

Along with the Estonian international Henrik Ojamaa, Jordan Stewart had played very well up front.

For Bristol Rovers the lack of experienced leadership on the pitch at the end proved the decisive factor.

At the end every outfield BRFC player on the pitch was a product or member of the BRFC Academy.
