BRFC Academy signed off for the year as they battled to an entertaining 1-1 draw with Pompey.

This match was in the FA Youth Alliance League South West division.

Brandon Joseph-Buadi fired the home side  ahead just before the break.

Bristol Rovers hit back through Lewis Ellington’s deflected strike on the hour mark .

Joseph-Buadi lifted Adam May’s pass over Rovers goalkeeper Charlie Phillips, before volleying into the net.

Lewis Ellington later got free in the area and sent a deflected effort past Nick Hall in the Pompey goal.

Calvin Davies had a penalty awarded for handball saved 20 minutes from time by Charlie Phillips.

Davies tried placement over power, only to see Charlie Phillips save well down to his right.

Shortly after, Pompey substitute Jez Bedford rattled the woodwork.

This was Pompey’s first match since their 2-1 FA Youth Cup defeat against Manchester City.

Bristol Rovers now have two away matches left and need wins now to qualify for the Merit League Division One.

Winning at Plymouth Argyle and Cheltenham Town in January will be a tough call.
