Supporting our Youngsters

The Bristol Rovers Supporters Club, Weston Super Mare Gas, the BRSC branches and The Fans Forum, greatly value the importance of developing youngsters at the club.

Together, they have constantly ‘put their money where their mouth is’ buy making cash gifts and actively supporting our Academy and Youth setup at Bristol Rovers.

I am delighted to tell you about Paul Molesworth’s Central Development side, which is based at Henley in Arden College near Stratford Upon Avon.

They play under Bristol Rovers club name, and have benefited from BRFC kit donations worth £3,500 already.

The reason for mentioning this is that you will recall Jamie Lucas earlier came through this system.

Without revealing a secret, I am delighted that another youngster is on his way to the Mem from Paul’s set-up.

I understand scholarship forms have been agreed, the youngster is 16 and a prolific striker. Wow!

No doubt the club will be introducing him to you very soon.

Therefore a massive thank you to you all for your ongoing financial support.

I was asked by several supporters prior to the Hartlepool game, if it was possible for Paul to bring the team down to the Mem from Henley.

I hope that will be a possibility before the end of the season.

Phil Johns

On behalf of everyone at Bristol Rovers, I would like to take this opportunity to wish Phil Johns a very happy 80th birthday on Friday 11th March.

Phil has been a season ticket holder for over 45-years and a supporters for over 70 years.

Phil sits in the Dribuild Stand and is also a cousin of the late Don Revie OBE.

We all hope you had a great day yesterday, enjoy today’s fixture and sincere thank for your continued support.

Earlier This Season

I’m sure many will remember our earlier meeting with Mansfield this season in a game surrounded in controversy.

The Stags finishing with nine men and Rovers celebrated a 2-1 victory.

I’m sure today’s game will be equally entertaining but hopefully all for the right reasons.

Many thanks for your support and enjoy the game.

Yours in Friendship
