Bristol Rovers have been reminded by the FA of the potential for mass pitch incursions by supporters at this time of the season as these pose a threat to the safety of players, officials and spectators.

The staff and players on the lap of honour after the Forest Green Rovers play off semi-final in 2014/15.

Supporters are required to remain in the stands and should be reminded of such prior to any potential ‘lap of honour’ to be made by the team. Announcements will be made of the PA system before the final whistle to alert the fans that players will only come out if the pitch remains clear.

The FA has viewed with concern a number of incidents at this stage last season involving pitch incursions by spectators.

Such incidents have resulted in clubs being charged and subsequently fined up to £200,000 by Regulatory Commissions.

Bristol Rovers have been asked to review our procedures for dealing with mass incursions to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to deal with such incidents.

Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action being taken against the club in even of an incursion.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to ask supporters to remain off the pitch whatever the outcome on Saturday.
