“The induction evening gave us a great opportunity to speak to the players and their families about what happens over the next two years, not just about the playing side but about their education.”

“With the addition of these 7 players, this will mean that all 19 players in the scholarship programme have spent time within our schoolboy programme which is testament to the good work that is going on within the Academy.”

“A couple of them have been with us since the age of 7 and 8 which is also important for us as a programme.”

“Most of the players have had the opportunity to gain experience within the Under 18 squad towards the end of this season and although it was a tough experience for them it can only be a positive one for their development going forward.”

“It is a big achievement for them to be awarded a scholarship and we would like to take the opportunity to congratulate them on this. We also remind them that it is only another step on the journey and that the hard work and positive attitude that has lead them to this stage needs to continue over the next 2 years.”
