Group 5 Complete

The news is about the completion of our 5th successful programme of Fans4Life.
Fans4Life aims to improve the health and well-being of physically inactive fans at risk of poor health through a free 10 week health education and exercise programme based at the Memorial Stadium.
Participants attend sessions on one evening a week. These involve two 45 minute sessions run concurrently focussing on health and well-being and exercise activities.
Participants are also encouraged to include independent exercises throughout the week. All sessions are led by qualified health professionals (dietitians, exercise physiologists, exercise and health psychologists, nurses and General Practitioners, exercise leaders and Bristol Rovers staff.
Wednesday night saw the completion of our most recent group of participants and the results were simply fantastic!
We saw huge weight loss across all the participants with one client losing just over 12 kg as well as reductions in waist sizes of up to 5 cm. Perhaps even more impressive was the fact that all participants saw reductions in cholesterol levels and improvements in blood pressure.
To celebrate these fantastic improvements in their health, participants were joined by our Fans4Life Ambassador Stuart Sinclair. Stuart said at Wednesday’s event, “I am delighted to be the ambassador for our Fans4Life programme.
“The results from tonight’s health testing prove that this programme really does work and helps improve the health and well being of our fans. I look forward meeting with the next group and help support them on their journey to a healthier lifestyle”.
Simon Pike one of our participants who was voted club captain for his dedication to the programme and support of other group members said, “Taking part in this programme has honestly changed my life for the better. Not only have I lost over 12kg but I have also lowered my cholesterol levels and blood pressure.
“I feel so much better in myself thanks to this programme and the work put in by Bristol Rovers Community Trust. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get healthier and improve their lives”.
We would like to thank all the participants in this programme and hope this is just the start of a healthy and improved lifestyle.
