Oliver Is The Referee

August 26, 2016

The Match Officials for the County Ground fixture have been announced.

Sky Bet League One. Saturday 27th August 2016.

Swindon Town v Bristol Rovers

Assistants: Robert Hyde and Kevin Morris.

Fourth Official: Colin Lymer.

Match referee Oliver Langford should be a familiar face to Bristol Rovers supporters.

He was the referee in the 2015/16 season for the Peter Hartley bonding exercise with Rory Gaffney.

In that match on January 23rd 2016 in front of 10,190, Bristol Rovers drew 1-1 with Plymouth Argyle.

He was also the referee for the 2-0 victory in the EFL Trophy over Wycombe Wanderers.

It was September 26th 2015 at home to Colchester United when he last took control of a Robins game.

His last match was on Tuesday 23rd August 2016 when Stoke City won 4-0 at Stevenage in the EFL Cup.

So far this season he has given 4 penalties in the 4 fixtures in which he has been the lead official.

Can we expect the pointing to the spot to be repeated at the County Ground?

During his 9 year league career he has officiated in 283 games.

He has given 67 penalties, 637 yellow cards and 33 straight red cards.
