Ross Joyce has been the referee just once for The Dale when they lost to Crewe Alexandra 2-0.

He has been the person in charge four times for Bristol Rovers fixtures.

When he has been the referee for a Pirates fixture the matches have been memorable.

Most famously, he was the referee at Wembley when Lee Mansell sent a few people home happy.

In that play-off final match at the end of the 2014/15 season he booked Will Puddy and Matty Taylor.

He also took charge of BRFC on Tuesday 2nd December 2014 in the “Mark McChrystal classic”.

Steve Mildenhall went off with a knee injury and Macca went in goal against Wrexham.

Matty Taylor and Nathan Blissett were booked in this match.

Ross Joyce was also the referee in the match in which Stuart Sinclair was sent off in the 90th minute.

In this fixture on Saturday 16th August 2014, Bristol Rovers lost 2-1 to Altrincham.

Tom Parkes, Ryan Brunt and Matty Taylor were booked.

The only time Ross Joyce has been the referee at The Memorial Stadium was on Saturday 22nd August 2015.

Bristol Rovers beat Barnet 3-1 with goals from Lee Brown, Jermaine Easter and Matty Taylor.

A 60th minute substitute, Matty Taylor was probably not on the pitch long enough for his usual booking.

In his place, there were bookings for Tom Lockyer and Lee Brown.

This season Ross Joyce has been the referee on 9 occasions, booked 41 players but produced no red cards.
