Come and support North Bristol Foodbank tomorrow

December 7, 2018

The Club is pleased to announce that it will be supporting a number of local charity causes at Saturday’s home fixture against Doncaster Rovers.

With the festive season approaching, the Club is extending the opportunity for supporters to help two worthy, local causes at our next home fixture.

Official Charity Partner, North Bristol Foodbank, will be hosting a toy collection for supporters to donate gifts – which will provide those families less fortunate with some festive cheer.

Over the Christmas period, the charity will be giving out around 200 Christmas Hampers to local people who won’t be receiving anything special this Christmas time.

The items collected at Saturday’s game will go into these hampers and any cash donated will enable North Bristol Foodbank to purchase any additional items they need to make these hampers extra special.

Suggestions for donations include small stocking filler gifts (e.g. small soft toys, books, toy cars, stationery, toiletries, etc.) and cash donations. If you would prefer to donate online, you can do so HERE.

Representatives from the North Bristol Foodbank will be present around the Memorial Stadium next Saturday to collect any welcomed donations from supporters and fans will see a bucket collection for the charity at various locations around the ground to support the great work that the charity carries out.

In addition to the collection for North Bristol Foodbank, the Bristol Rovers Community Trust have made the Club aware of the recent flood at Christ Church School in Downend – where the recent bad weather caused the school’s library to flood, with the loss of hundreds of books.

We would like to offer supporters the opportunity to donate any books relevant to primary school aged children for this cause – which will be gratefully received by the school as they look to rebuild their library for the pupils to enjoy.

Representatives from North Bristol Foodbank have kindly offered to host the book collection along with their toy collection, with supporters able to donate both books and toys in the main car park here at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
