Bristol Rovers Supporters Club are proud sponsors of the Academy, which is all made possible by the extraordinary success of the 50/50 draw. We are absolutely delighted to be able to share this news and thank each and every one of you that buys a 50/50 ticket.
Second-year scholars Lucas Tomlinson, Harry Warwick, Josh Bailey, Tom Mehew and Scott Isherwood have all impressed during their time with Rovers and as such are worthy recipients of their professional contracts.
Midfielder Lewis Clutton has also been given more time to try to earn a deal, as he recovers from a long-term injury.
After overcoming a difficult back injury early in the season, Lucas went on to make 19 appearances for the Under-18s and also featured eight times for the Development Squad.
Striker Harry had a prolific season, netting 18 goals and notching eight assists, whilst the youngster also scored his first senior goal whilst on loan at Gloucester City.
He also appeared 12 times for the Development Squad.
Tom has been a regular fixture the Under-18s this campaign, playing 23 games in which he scored six and created four goals from midfield.
He too got some game time in the Development Squad, 13 times to be precise.
Scott has been a mainstay at right-back for the Under-18s, making 22 appearances for them and 13 for the Development Squad.
Josh has had a tough season in which he has spent almost its entirety on rehabilitation as he looks to come back from a ligament injury, but his showings the previous campaign was enough to convince the coaching staff of his potential.
Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Tom Parrinello said, “All of these lads are thoroughly deserving of the offers they have received.
“The attitude, work rate, application and qualities they have shown over the two year period has earned them their deals and I am thoroughly delighted for each and every single one of them and their families.
“To be offered your first professional contract is a huge privilege and honour and as someone who has worked with these boys, some from the age of 10 years old, it feels me with great pride to see them take on the next step in their pathway and try to make an impression on the first team staff.
“The decisions are a massive positive for every player in the Academy and shows the club is massively keen to promote young players through the pathway and give them opportunities if they consistently display the correct habits, behaviour & characteristics of what it takes to be a professional footballer at Bristol Rovers.”
