As the humanitarian crisis unfolds in the Ukraine, Bristol Rovers FC and Bristol Rovers Community Trust are working in partnership to help families and children affected by the conflict.

The club was earlier this week contacted by Martyn Clemence, a member of the club’s Walking Football team, who has kindly offered to drive essential supplies from Bristol to the Ukrainian/Polish border. In order to support his kind offer, we are requesting donations of essential items that will be used to help families and children caught in the conflict. In order to ensure these donations are distributed effectively, we have partnered with Ukraine Aid – UK2KRK, who are based in Krakow and will oversee the distribution of all our donations.

Donations can be made to the Club Shop from 10am – 4pm on Thursday 10th – Friday 11th March. We will also do a matchday collection in the Fan Zone on Saturday 12th March from 12 – 3pm

Tom Gorringe, the club’s CEO said:

“We are delighted that a member of the Gas Family has reached out to Bristol Rovers to help us support those most in need during this very difficult time. As a club, we are saddened to see the news unfolding out of Ukraine and we feel that we have a responsibility to do what we can to help those most in need. It shows what this club is all about that working alongside our Community Trust and our fans, we can do the right thing in the most horrific of circumstances, by facilitating the donations of essential items here at the Memorial Stadium.”

Adam Tutton, Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO added:

“As a community club, we have again come together to support those most in need as this humanitarian crisis unfolds. With hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes, having fled with minimal physical belongings, we are trying to provide an opportunity for people to donate what they can and assist all those who have been so badly affected”.

Items needed include:

– Complete first aid kits, plasters, bandages, sudocream, burn relief gel, ibuprofen, paracetamol and Calpol for babies

– Camping mats

– Sleeping bags

– Warm blankets, but not duvets

– Thermal clothes and underwear of different sizes, both child and adult

– Hot water bottles

– Baby food and baby formula. breast pumps and sterilisers

– Nappies, various sizes

– Sanitary products for women

-Toothbrushes and toothpaste

– Wet wipes

– Batteries

To further support these efforts, in conjunction with The Terrace, we are delighted to launch a new product in aid of these efforts. The new mug has the iconic Rovers shirt re-worked into the colours of the Ukrainian flag and all proceeds from the sale of these will fund our support during this crisis.
