COMINGS AND GOINGS
This is the time of the year when the good and the not-so-good news starts to be delivered to professional footballers.
The second-year Academy scholars have recently been informed whether or not they will be offered their first ever professional contracts.
There was disappointing news for several scholars but good news for Lewis Ellington, Luke Russe, Sam Blake, Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist and Connor Jones.
It was recenty announced that some senior players had recently agreed new contracts, including Chris Lines, Ollie Clarke and Stuart Sinclair.
Contract offers have now been made to five other players; Ellis Harrison, Rory Gaffney, James Clarke, Ryan Broom and the long-term injured Alfie Kilgour. Unfortunately, there are no contract offers for eight other players, including Will Puddy, Cristian Montano and Jermaine Easter.
Other players not offered new terms are Bob Harris, Danny Greenslade, Dominic Thomas, Jamie Lucas and Jake Gosling.
Two senior members of the squad, Lee Mansell and Steve Mildenhall have been made coaching offers. The offer of coaching positions to these two highly respected individuals will be warmly welcomed by most supporters.
Midfield player Lee Mansell has been offered the Bristol Rovers Academy Professional Development Phase Coach role.
Lee Mansell will then work alongside Tom Parrinello and the squad of scholars involved in the Under 18 squad.
Meanwhile, the experienced Steve Mildenhall has been offered a goalkeeping coach role working with the first team and Under 21 squad.
