Continuing our now regular headings I can advise on another couple of issues that we dealt with at our meeting on the 10th. Firstly we have set the date of our Annual General Meeting for Thursday, December 6th. News of this has leaked out already and a few members have complained at the late date. However, it is better to get things right after the embezzlement scandal of the previous year so we have, rightly in my opinion, taken our time on the accounts which were formally passed by the committee at the meeting and all the officers now have to prepare their reports. More details on this important meeting will be made available through our website and all the usual channels, including this column for those who are not on line.

Rovers’ C.E.O. Martyn Starnes kindly attended our meeting for a second successive time in order to sort out a few things, one of which of course has been the Supporters Club Bar in the Clubhouse. Hopefully all was sorted for last Saturday’s match here against Oxford when our part of the room was scheduled to be partitioned-off with membership cards able to be checked whilst non-members should still be able to access the ever-popular ‘Irene’s Kitchen’. It helps to talk as they say!
