Congratulations To Our Winners

On Saturday, prior to kick off against Reading, we were delighted to be able to present our Awards for 2024/25 to the Player and Young Player of the Year, as voted for by supporters and those awards went to Connor Taylor and Kofi Shaw respectively.

In addition, two more awards were made to Ollie Dewsbury who was selected by Academy Manager Byron Anthony as Trainee of the Year and to Clare McDonagh who received the Clubman/Person of the Year as chosen by the Supporters Club Committee.

Connor, who has now played over 100 league games for the club, made his Rovers debut on the opening day of the 2021/22 season when we were beaten 2-1 at Mansfield.

At the end of that season he returned to his parent club, Stoke City, but in the summer of 2023, he came back to Bristol and signed a permanent deal with Rovers.

Kofi spent eight years with West Bromwich Albion before arriving at Rovers in 2022. He made his first league start for the club in the final game of last season, a 2-0 defeat at Wigan.

Earlier this season he spent time out on loan with Yeovil Town but following his recall in January he has established himself as a first team regular with Rovers and had appeared in a total of 15 league games going into the last game of the season.

It’s been a breakthrough season for Ollie Dewsbury, who only made his first team league debut when going on as a substitute in our game against Huddersfield Town on 8th March.

It wasn’t his first taste of senior football, though, as he had made an FA Cup appearance against Whitby Town last season and this season, he has spent time on loan with Yate Town and with Taunton Town.

Clare needs no introduction to Rovers supporters, many of whom she has assisted with sorting out their ticketing problems over many years.

In fact, she celebrated 25 years of working for the club in March of this year and was the unanimous choice of our committee who recognize what a fantastic job she does for our club.

Thanks to members of the Dunford family and to our own Director helen Wigmore for making the presentations.

Congratulations to all of our winners; your awards are thoroughly deserved.
