The Match Officials for Bristol Rovers visit to Rochdale AFC have been announced.

Rochdale v Bristol Rovers.

Sky Bet EFL Division ONE.

Saturday 4th February 2017.

Match Referee: MARK BROWN.

Mark Brown is an experienced referee who has taken charge of 10 previous Rochdale AFC matches. Rochdale lost 1-0 to Wigan Athletic on Monday 28th March 2016 when he last officiated for the Dale. Surprisingly, he has issued 8 Yellow cards, 2 Red Cards and given 2 penalties in his 10 Rochdale matches.

Assistant Referees: Stephen Wade and Paul Marsden.

Fourth Official: Philip Dermott.

Humberside based, he has been the whistle-blower for just 3 Bristol Rovers fixtures.

He last controlled a BRFC Match in November 2015 when Carlisle United were beaten 2-0.

The 66th and 87th minute goals at The Memorial Stadium were scored by “an ex-BRFC Striker”.

In that fixture Lee Brown, Mark McChrystal, Tom Parkes and Stuart Sinclair were all given Yellow cards.

Mark Brown was also the referee in November 2013 when JJOT scored at The Kassam Stadium.

A 71st minute penalty brought the 1-0 victory; the only BRFC win in a spell of 13 games.

Tom Lockyer, Seanan Clucas and John Joe O’Toole were all booked in this match.

The only other time Mark Brown was the referee Bristol Rovers also won. This was against Northampton Town at The Memorial Stadium back on the 6th of October 2012. In that 3-1 victory the goals came from Tom Eaves, Gary Kenneth and Oliver Norburn. Matt Lund, Tom Parkes and Tom Eaves were booked while Anthony Charles was sent off for the Cobblers.

This season Mark Brown has only been in charge of only 3 matches so far.

In those matches in January 2017 he has booked 8 players, issued no Red cards and has given no penalties.
