DANNY TO THE SEAGULLS UNTIL END OF SEASON
Weston-super-Mare AFC have announced the signing on loan of Danny Greenslade from Bristol Rovers.
The 23 year old defender has spent periods on loan with Mangotsfield United, Truro City and Bath City.
His most recent loan period was spent with National League North team Gloucester City.
Signing at the start of October he impressed in his time with the Tigers, leading to a request from the management at Gloucester to extend his loan period for a further month.
On his signing with the Seagulls Danny Greenslade commented, “I can’t wait to get started at tomorrow nights match, there’s no better way than with a local derby. It’s been a bit of a ‘Stop/Start’ season for me so far so I am really looking forward to getting a good run of games under my belt and showing what I am capable of.”
“I have heard a lot of good things about Weston, especially from Jamie Lucas who was here a few seasons ago, they are a good club who try to play the right way”.
Weston Super Mare FC manager Scott Bartlett added, “Danny is a player I have admired for some time and one we are happy to bring to our club. He is aggressive, has good energy and will add to our squad. As with any loan we hope it mutually benefits WSM and Bristol Rovers and of course Danny himself.”
“We have a busy period of games coming up and Danny will be an asset to us. We have an excellent record of developing young players here and clubs have seen huge development in Lloyd Humphries (Cardiff City) and Brad Ash (Barnsley) this season. This is another demonstration of the excellent relationships we have with local clubs which is important for us moving forward.”
