Despite just being a friendly the game was played at a competitive pace and took 75 minutes to produce the first goal, with Street’s Ed Butcher crashing home a powerful effort in off the post.
Rovers found an equaliser 12 minutes later after much pressing, with two substitute Trialists combining with a whipped cross from the right and a well executed volley into the bottom corner.
Similarly to the opening pre-season fixture at Cheddar FC, Chris Hargreaves fielded a side that contained a mixture of trialists and current squad members (see full line-up listed below).
The first notable chance of the game fell the way of the hosts four minutes in, as they delivered a deep corner to the back post and almost managed to turn the ball into the net, but the stabbed volley fell marginally wide.
The game was being played at a ferocious pace and Rovers were tested once more after conceding a free kick on the corner of the 18-yard box, that required a Ben Morgan and Trialist keeper combo to scramble clear.
Street had another set piece in a dangerous spot moments later as Morgan fouled their no.9 just outside the box, with the hosts’ big centre-half rising highest but nodding the ball over.
After 17 minutes Rovers first posed a recognisable threat, when Trialist showed good skill to flick the ball behind his head and two defenders and square the ball to James Spruce, but the striker’s effort was smothered by the keeper.
Hargeaves’ men were growing into the game, as the boss’ junior was teed up on the edge of the area, however his rifled strike flew just wide and over.
Rovers’ striker Trialist was looking lively and causing the defenders problems with his pace, on one ocassion breaking through but unfortunately scuffing his strike.
Street’s opposite number was looking equally dangerous, managing a smart turn on Josh Bailey just inside the area, but was unable to pick out a teammate who would’ve had a golden opportunity to score.
There was one change at the break, as one Trialist came on the replace another up front.
Early on Rovers’ keeper was tested with a long range strike, parrying it away from the goal after Alfie Clarke had been dispossessed.
The recently introduced Trialist got an early touch of the ball, taking on a defender on the right side before cutting in on his favoured left and aiming for the top far corner, but couldn’t keep it down.
10 minutes into the second half and it was Rovers who had the impetus, with a nice passage of play finding a Trialist with a shooting opportunity 20-yards out and very nearly notching the opener but for a strong save.
Up the other end a big chance went begging for the hosts, as a nicely weighted cross found a green shirt in the middle, but he could only guide his free header just over the bar.
With a third of the game remaining Hargreaves Snr. made three changes as a Trialist, Mo Baghdadi and James Spruce made way for two Trialists and Conor Jones.
Rovers made their final change with roughly 15 minutes left on the clock, as Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist replaced Luke Russe.
Just moments later the Trialist keeper produced easily the save of the game, as a Street player looped a superb long range volley that looked destined for the top corner but for a great stretch and strong hand to tip it over.
However, Street then did break the deadlock no more than a minute after that, with a thunderous effort crashing off the post and into the net courtesy of Butcher.
Rovers went pressing for the equaliser and found it with about three minutes left on the clock, as two Trialists combined with a wicked cross into the six-yard box and a cute finish into the far corner to level the scoring.
