When did you start watching Rovers?
I started watching the Rovers when the family moved to Yate in the early 70’s, so 71/72 started going the games. Left Yate in 78 to Join the Military (Coldstream Guards) and even travelled back from Germany to watch games, mad yes but I was hooked and still am.
My Jumper came about from a Stoke City Fan (my wife’s gran) who knitted as a surprise in early Jan 1988, yes the one I wear home and away and it’s still the same
although it has stretched over the years for some reason!
although it has stretched over the years for some reason!Favourite player(s) since watching Rovers?
I have a few I have liked over the years but Gary Mabbutt is the one.
Favourite manager(s)?
Gerry Francis

Most memorable game(s) watching Rovers?
Again over the years there has been many great games so for us and some for others, but for pure excitement I think it was the 7-0 v Scunny those last few minutes were so electrifying and mad.
Most memorable goal(s)?
For me it was the two Paul Randell scored v Southampton at our spiritual home, Eastville.
Favourite away ground?
I liked a few of the old grounds but Elland Road I think takes it, not just the ground but those mad Leeds fans made it special.
Worst away ground(s)?
For me it’s Hartlepool, just always disliked the trip up there.
How do you see the season planning out?
I thought with the signings we made last summer and those we had, we would have started off better. But for the team to capitulate in games like they have has been nothing short of terrible. Not sure why, but from a fans view I think either the manager lost his fight in the game or he lost the trust and respect of the players, but being polite we have been bloody atrocious.
But watching since Steve Evans has taken charge you can see a change in attitude and effort, but may not be the results as of yet.
How do you rate the season so far?
Well below what we as gas heads expect. But the future is brighter
Any funny/unusual stories at Rovers?
Lots of fun over the years, but was talking to John Kayes at Newport away, from a game many moons ago at Fulham.
I was getting my collar by a horse officer for being a toerag again, John came to my rescue and the copper grabbed him, John being John tried to leg it and went one side of a lamp post and the horse went the other, big shout as the officer fell me and john legged it
