Any funny/unusual stories at Rovers?
Some years ago, we went to Birmingham City for a cup match. When we arrived, they didn’t have enough space opened for all the Gasheads to get in.
We ended up missing 25 minutes of the first half. We lost and they made us stay in the car park in the absolute pouring rain while the home fans left. The Rovers sang very loudly, ‘We’re Bristol Rovers we want to go home!’
Cynthia also mentions that she attended the famous 4-0 win versus Manchester United (The Busby Babes) on 7th January 1956 in front of an attendance of 35,872 and also many other games of the great Rovers team of the 1950’s.
