Ashley Belsten has organised a Charity match for Sunday 13th August at Cossham Street, home of Mangotsfield United, kick off 2.00pm, between a team of former Rovers players and a team of supporters.
In addition to the football, there are several other attractions, including a hog roast, an appearance from a Minion and Gru from the Despicable Me films, face painters and an auction and a raffle.
Ashley is raising funds for a Brunel Care run home in Soundwell called Deerhurst. The reason for this is because his grandfather passed away in this home last year and the care they provided him with in his final few months was fantastic.
The ex-players involved are; Steve Elliot, Lewis Haldane, Lewis Hogg, Danny Coles, Lee Zabek, Julian Alsop, Trevor Challis, Lee Maddison, Mark McKeever, Andy Gurney, Jo Kuffour, Mike Trought, Robbie Pethick, Byron Anthony, Eliot Richards, Simon Bryant, Josh Low, Ijah Anderson, Steve Phillips, Tom Parinello, Alvin Bubb, and Tom Ramasut.
Nick Day will be on the PA, Chris Lines has confirmed the he will be attending and Darrell Clarke and Wael Al Qadi have said they will be there if their busy schedule allows.
Tickets for the game are £5 and they can be purchased in advance from Ashley on 07951 883606. Alternatively, you can pay on the day.
