Forum to follow the AGM

Dec 1, 2018 | Committee News, Fans, News

Members are reminded that the Annual General Meeting of the Supporters Club will take place next Thursday, 6th December, at the Memorial Stadium starting at 7pm.

As usual there will be a short break after completion of the A.G.M. business and we will be holding another Football Forum starting at around 8pm, subject to business being completed. This year we are concentrating the forum on what has become a most successful part of Bristol Rovers Football Club – youth player development. Last season Rovers started an under-23 age Development Squad to play competitive fixtures against other Football League club’s reserves and development teams in the Central League and we were duly rewarded by winning the League at the very first attempt.

For the forum we have invited Development Squad Manager, Chris Hargeaves along to answer any questions alongside Youth Academy Coach (and Wembley penalty hero!) Lee Mansell. We also hope to have along one of the current Rovers first-team players who has made the transition up through the Youth/Academy system to tell us his side of the story.

Chris has promised to bring along the Central League Championship trophy for members to have a rare look at and we intend to present him with a video camera and equipment for recording matches and training sessions. We also have three shirts from last season’s group of ‘January window’ signings to raffle, free of charge, to those who attend the evening so it should make for a very worthwhile couple of hours and I hope to see many of you there on the night.

Jim Chappell,

Chairman.
