Gas Girls frustration set to continue as league announces two week delay

Following the recent announcement regarding the County of Gloucestershire being moved into tier 4, the Gloucestershire County Women’s Football League have decided to postpone all games due to be played on 10th and 17th January.

Bristol Rovers Women’s FC were due to restart their 2020/21 campaign at home to Abbeymead Rovers on Sunday 10th January while the Development Team were scheduled to travel to Mitcheldean SC in Division Two.

Bristol Rovers Women’s FC fully respect the decision in the interest of health of safety which is the priority.

Club Secretary, Matthew Davies said: “As we’ve said from day one, the health and safety of all players, volunteers and supporters is paramount. With the NHS struggling during this time, all of our efforts should coincide with the rules put in place to ensure that everyone is safe. With the positive news regarding the vaccines, I certainly hope that we can all look forward to safer, healthier and prosperous year ahead.”
