Recors went tumbling at Lockleaze Sports Centre on Sunday as the Gas Girls turned on the style in defeating a Gloucester City Ladies side that never gave up and kept trying to play football the whole game, by 22 goals to nil.

No fewer than four of our girls scored hat-tricks with Georgia Vandries again leading the way with no fewer than seven goals (she only managed four last week!). Rossana Rocha hit four goals despite only playing the second half of the game and there were further hat-tricks from Zoe Fielden-Stewart and Libby Bell. Jamie-Leigh Worlock struck two goals and the scoring was completed by strikes from Kelly Cutler, Anna Hubble and Annys Turner.

This result lifts our girls to the top of the Gloucestershire County Womens Football League division one table, albeit on goal difference, and they are now just two games from cliching the title and their first silverware that they were so cruelly denied last season.

Our Development side went down to a 4-1 defeat at Cirencester Town Ladies despite putting in a creditable performance. Shannon Franis was our goalscorer. This result sees them lie 4th in the division two table, six points behind leaders Olveston United who they still have to play.
