Everyone at Bristol Rovers Supporters Club would like to wish Bristol Rovers Womens’ FC aka the Gas Girls a very happy first birthday today.
It hardly seems possible that it is a whole year ago that we made the pitch-side presentation of our £5,000 sponsorship at half-time in the Barnsley game. In that time it has been a privilege to watch the project grow from strength to strength to what it is today.
We would like to congratulate Adam, Mavis, Nathan and Abbie (and so many others) on the magnificent job they have done and it has been a real pleasure working with you. The Supporters Club are looking forward to continuing to work with you for many years to come.
Our congratulations also go to the girls themselves who have worn the quarters with such distinction. To have promotion taken away in such circumstances must have been a very bitter pill to swallow.
Enjoy your (virtual) day today; you all deserve it and we look forward to seeing you on the roof at Lockleaze again as soon as events allow.
