Another new ‘away’ strip and another away win for the ‘Pirates’ last Saturday. After Lincoln City lost their 100% home record to Rovers in navy blue the week before so the ‘Wombles’ were put away by a more sensibly clad yellow and black kitted ‘Gas’ last Saturday. In between those two wins on the road we unfortunately dropped a couple of points here in the draw against Gillingham. Spoiling that evening more was the loss of right-wing-back Josh Hare to what seemed to be a very serious knee injury. Every Rovers’ supporter will wish Josh all the very best for what looks like being a long recovery period.
BURY F.C.
……………..
Everyone is by now aware of the plight of Bury Football Club and this is highlighted by the fact the ‘travelling Gas’ should have been making the long trip north to Gigg Lane next Saturday. Instead we will be joining the long list of clubs with a ‘day off’ whilst all others get their regular ‘Saturday fix’! For fans of the ‘Shakers’ though, well they now get every Saturday ‘off’ and they have the sympathy of all of us who love the great game. In the last fortnight I have received a couple of e-mails from the Bury trust and from their local Member of Parliament as they try to get the club reinstated into League 2 next season. The BRSC Committee next meets on Tuesday and we will be discussing what support we can give to our old friends from Greater Manchester then.
